About Amar Sathi

Why this project exists

A personal technology initiative focused on dignity, simplicity and staying connected with parents and elders.

The reason to implement Amar Sathi

Our parents spent years remembering our needs: meals, medicine, school, safety, appointments and the small details that made us feel cared for. As they grow older, everyday smartphones can sometimes become more complicated at exactly the time when important actions should become easier.

Amar Sathi was created around a simple question: Can a phone make a few everyday care tasks easier without forcing an older person through complicated screens?

The current answer is a focused interface for the actions that can matter most: reaching family, keeping a simple medicine list, recording an “I am OK” check-in, keeping doctor/health notes and accessing emergency help.

Design principles

👁

Easy to see

Large text, strong contrast and uncluttered screens.

Easy to tap

Large buttons and generous spacing reduce precision demands.

🧭

Easy to understand

Direct labels and a small number of choices on each screen.

Who is behind it?

Amar Sathi is developed by Jahangir Alam Talukder as an independent personal project. Feedback is welcome at jahangirtalukder07cse@gmail.com.

Current status

The current release is a Web/PWA Beta. It is intentionally transparent about its limitations: browser-based notifications may not behave like native Android alarms when the app is closed, and the app does not currently synchronize family data to a cloud account.

Future direction

Planned improvements may include a native Android APK, more dependable background medicine reminders, optional caregiver synchronization, clearer accessibility controls, additional health/routine helpers, and carefully selected monetization that does not interfere with emergency or care tasks.

Our principle: monetization should never block or delay SOS, emergency calling, medication actions or other safety-related workflows.
